# Dumpstr > Dumpstr is a free mobile app (iOS and Android) for India's stock market. It shows a daily, curated feed of the biggest-moving NSE stocks plus major Forex pairs, one card at a time, each with a plain-English, AI-written explanation of why it moved. It also contains **Dumpstr Learn**, a free 9-module, 46-lesson financial-literacy course that starts at "what is a company" and ends with reading a company's financial statements. Dumpstr is an information and education product, not investment advice. It does not recommend buying or selling any security, users cannot place trades through it, and Dumpstr is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst. Last updated: 7 October 2026 · App version 1.2.0 ## Pricing — everything is free **Dumpstr is free in full. There is no paid tier.** The previously planned "Dumpstr+" premium subscription was removed entirely in app version 1.2.0 — not deferred, not dormant. There is: - no premium tier or entitlement - no subscription, and no in-app purchases of any kind - no ads - no feature cap on a free account - no payment details required to sign up Any older source describing a ₹999/year or ₹149/month "Dumpstr+" plan, a 40-card daily limit, or price alerts as a paid perk is out of date. Every account gets everything. ## Availability - iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dumpstr/id6793005189 - Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dumpstr.app - Website: https://appdumpstr.com - Dumpstr Learn: https://appdumpstr.com/learn - Both platforms are live. Free to download. ## What every account gets - The full daily NSE movers feed — every stock that moved more than 2% that trading day - Major foreign-exchange pairs - A plain-English "what happened" explanation per card, with links to its sources - All of Dumpstr Learn (9 modules, 46 lessons) - Unlimited watchlist, unlimited journal notes, unlimited search - Price alerts on any stock (up to 20 active alerts per account — a technical cap, not a tier) - Charts from 1 week to 1 year - Financial health breakdowns (revenue, profit trend, debt levels) - Daily streaks, milestone badges at 3/7/14/30/100 days, and streak-saver keys - Four themes: Cassis, Cool Blue, Light, Black Signing up is free and takes about 30 seconds. Without an account you can preview a few cards (3 NSE cards, 5 Forex cards, 2 searches); signing up removes those preview limits. That preview cap is a signup nudge, not a paywall — there is nothing to pay for. ## Dumpstr Learn A free financial-literacy course built into the app as its own tab, taught in Indian-market terms (NSE, SEBI, rupees, Indian companies). It assumes no prior knowledge. How it works: - **Placement.** A short quiz on first open places you in module 1, 3 or 5 so you skip what you already know. You then choose a pace — a few minutes a week (~40 weeks), about an hour (~20 weeks), or fast (~10 weeks) — and how often you'll show up (daily / a few times a week / weekends only), which sets the reminder cadence. - **Lesson format.** Each lesson is a swipeable stack of cards, one idea per card: an intro from the mascot, the teaching cards, an interaction (tap-to-reveal, slider, drag-to-sort, scenario, or a real card from the live feed), then two quick-check questions with explanations, then an outro. - **Progression.** Lessons unlock as their prerequisites are completed. A checkpoint quiz closes each module, and module 8 is a capstone with a final quiz and a shareable graduation. - **Streak.** Learn keeps its own streak, separate from the feed's, with the same milestone-and-streak-saver-key system. - **Mascot.** "Scrap" — a feral trash-bear who introduces lessons, reacts to answers, and sends deliberately unhinged reminder notifications. Six moods. Cosmetic; mutable. ### Syllabus #### Module 0 — Orientation (2 lessons) Welcome, and the one honest promise: understanding over tips. - 0.1 Welcome + meet your guide - 0.2 The one honest promise #### Module 1 — The Ground Floor (6 lessons) Companies, shares, exchanges, indexes, why prices move, and the vocabulary starter pack. - 1.1 What is a company - 1.2 What is a share - 1.3 What is a stock exchange - 1.4 What is "the market" - 1.5 Why prices move at all - 1.6 The vocabulary starter pack #### Module 2 — Money In, Money Out (5 lessons) How a business makes money, revenue vs profit, sectors, growth, and price vs value. - 2.1 What a business actually does - 2.2 Revenue vs profit - 2.3 Sectors & industries - 2.4 How companies grow - 2.5 What "value" even means #### Module 3 — Reading the Numbers I: The Statements (5 lessons) The income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and how they connect. - 3.1 Why companies report - 3.2 The income statement (P&L) - 3.3 The balance sheet - 3.4 The cash flow statement - 3.5 How the three connect #### Module 4 — Reading the Numbers II: The Metrics (7 lessons) Market cap, P/E, margins, debt, return ratios, growth metrics, and putting them together. - 4.1 Market cap - 4.2 The P/E ratio - 4.3 Margins - 4.4 Debt & leverage - 4.5 Return ratios (ROE / ROCE) - 4.6 Growth metrics - 4.7 Putting the numbers together #### Module 5 — What Moves a Stock (6 lessons) Earnings surprises, news, expectations vs reality, sector behavior, macro, and why nobody can predict the market. - 5.1 Earnings surprises - 5.2 News & events - 5.3 Expectations vs reality - 5.4 How sectors behave - 5.5 The big picture (macro), lightly - 5.6 Why nobody can predict the market #### Module 6 — Thinking Like an Investor (6 lessons) Business quality, risk, diversification, time horizons, valuation, and behavioral traps. - 6.1 What makes a business "good" - 6.2 What risk really means - 6.3 Why one stock is dangerous - 6.4 Time horizons - 6.5 Cheap vs expensive - 6.6 Your own worst enemy #### Module 7 — The Wider World (5 lessons) Beyond stocks, funds, SEBI, reading financial news critically, and lifelong learning. - 7.1 Beyond stocks - 7.2 Funds explained - 7.3 Who watches the market - 7.4 Reading financial news critically - 7.5 Becoming a lifelong learner #### Module 8 — Capstone (4 lessons) Read a company end to end, read a dumpstr card like a pro, build a routine, and graduate. - 8.1 Read a company end to end - 8.2 Read a dumpstr card like a pro - 8.3 Build your own understanding routine - 8.4 Graduation ## Key facts - Founded by Dhruv Sharma (UI/UX design by Manish Tulas) - Markets covered: India's NSE (equities, end-of-day) and major Forex pairs. Not a live ticker — Dumpstr is built for one daily check-in. - Feed selection: each trading day, NSE stocks moving more than 2% are ranked by the size of the move (moves above 30% are dropped as likely data errors) and curated into the feed, then enriched with that day's news - Card explanations are AI-generated from the day's news and market data, with links back to sources - No red/green price coloring by default (a deliberate calm-UI choice) — user-togglable in Settings - Four in-app themes: Cassis, Cool Blue, Light, Black - Account deletion is self-service in-app (Account → Delete account) and immediate - Privacy policy: https://appdumpstr.com/privacy - Terms: https://appdumpstr.com/terms - Account deletion: https://appdumpstr.com/delete-account ## What Dumpstr is not - Not a broker or trading app — you cannot buy, sell or hold anything through it - Not an advisory service, and not SEBI-registered as an adviser or research analyst - Not a live/real-time quote service - Not a tip service — Dumpstr Learn's second lesson is literally titled "The one honest promise": understanding over tips
